A terrifying incident off the coast of Brazil has gone viral after a video captured the exact moment a shark attacked a female tourist during a snorkeling trip.
The incident took place in the Fernando de Noronha archipelago, a popular tourist destination known for its crystal-clear waters and marine life. The woman, a 36-year-old Brazilian tourist, was swimming with a group of divers and a guide when the unexpected encounter occurred.
According to reports, the shark initially approached calmly, showing no signs of aggression. However, within seconds, it suddenly lunged forward and bit the woman on the leg. The shocking moment was recorded on camera, showing the tourist being pulled and shaken underwater as panic erupted among the group.
Witnesses said the situation quickly turned chaotic, with bubbles and movement obscuring the scene as others rushed to help. A tour guide reportedly intervened, striking the shark until it released its grip.
The victim later described the terrifying experience, saying she immediately realized she had been bitten and felt the force of the animal pulling her leg. Despite the dramatic nature of the attack, she managed to escape with relatively minor injuries and was given first aid before being taken to a hospital.
Experts noted that the shark involved is believed to be a nurse shark, a species generally considered non-aggressive toward humans. Authorities emphasize that such incidents are rare and often occur when humans enter the natural habitat of marine wildlife.
The video has since spread widely across social media, sparking both shock and debate about safety during wildlife tourism activities.
